PRODUCER PETER O. ALMOND
Peter O. Almond is a producer and filmmaker at Beacon Pictures. Over several decades, he has combined public service, policy studies, journalism, and film writing and producing. With Kevin Costner and Armyan Bernstein, Almond produced THIRTEEN DAYS, a historical film about the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, seen from the perspective of the U.S. political leadership. The film, starring Kevin Costner (as Kenny O’Donnell) and Bruce Greenwood (as John F. Kennedy), was produced by Beacon Pictures and released by New Line Cinema. Almond has worked with Bernstein and Costner on a number of projects at Beacon Pictures, including producing the upcoming A LITTLE WAR OF OUR OWN to be directed by Costner. Almond played rugby at Yale, and graduated in 1965.
PRODUCER JAMES G. BLIGHT
James G. Blight served as principal substantive adviser to Errol Morris, during the three years his documentary film, The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons From the Life of Robert S. McNamara, was in production. The film was released in 2003, and won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature in 2004. Blight was also a co-author of a teacher’s guide for the film, which was underwritten by the film’s distributor, Sony Pictures Classics. In 2005, Blight, with janet M. Lang, published The Fog of War: Lessons From the Life of Robert S. McNamara. Blight is the author of a dozen other books on the recent history of U.S. foreign policy, including, most recently: Argument Without End: In Search of Answers to the Vietnam Tragedy; and Sad and Luminous Days: Cuba’s Struggle with the Superpowers after the Missile Crisis.
PRODUCER JANET M. LANG
Janet M. Lang is Adjunct Associate Professor of International Relations at the Watson Institute for International Studies, where she is co-director (with James G. Blight) of the Critical Oral History Project. She has been the project director for nearly two dozen international conferences: on the Cuban missile crisis, the Bay of Pigs invasion, the Vietnam war, and the collapse of U.S.-Soviet detente during the Carter administration. She is the author or co-author of A Quiet Revolution (2003), a history of the project’s research on the missile crisis and (with James G. Blight) The Fog of War, a book that accompanies the Academy Award winning Errol Morris film.

David A. Welch is CIGI Chair of Global Security at the Balsillie School of International Affairs and Professor of Political Science at the University of Waterloo. His 2005 book Painful Choices: A Theory of Foreign Policy Change (Princeton University Press) is the inaugural winner of the International Studies Association ISSS Book Award for the best book published in 2005 or 2006, and his 1993 book Justice and the Genesis of War (Cambridge University Press) is the winner of the 1994 Edgar S. Furniss Award for an Outstanding Contribution to National Security Studies. He is the author of Decisions, Decisions: The Art of Effective Decision-Making (Prometheus, 2001), and co-author of Vietnam if Kennedy had Lived: Virtual JFK (Rowman and Littlefield, 2009); The Cuban Missile Crisis: A Concise History (Oxford University Press, 2007); On the Brink: Americans and Soviets Reexamine the Cuban Missile Crisis (1st ed., Hill and Wang, 1989; 2nd ed., Noonday, 1990); and Cuba on the Brink: Castro, The Missile Crisis, and the Soviet Collapse (Pantheon, 1993; 2nd ed., Rowman and Littlefield, 2002). He is co-editor of Intelligence and the Cuban Missile Crisis (Frank Cass, 1998), and his articles have appeared in Asian Perspective, Ethics and International Affairs, Foreign Affairs, The Georgetown Journal of International Affairs, Intelligence and National Security, International Security, International Journal, International Studies Quarterly, The Journal of Conflict Resolution, The Mershon International Studies Review, The Review of International Studies, and Security Studies. He received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1990.

Michael Paszt is Vice President of acquisitions at CinemaVault Releasing International.
